COVID-19: An Update From Johnston Withers Lawyers to Clients
To our valued clients,
The issue of coronavirus (COVID-19) is being reported on daily by the media and you are no doubt aware of the information that is available concerning this virus.
Johnston Withers are actively adapting the way we can be of service to you whilst being mindful of the fast moving status of COVID-19.
Our key priorities are:
- The health of our staff, our clients and our communities; and
- Maintaining the quality of our service delivery.
Our response to the situation is being guided by the latest information available from the Government and World Health Organisation, and by our existing policies and business continuity plan.
If members of our staff show any symptoms, they are required to self-quarantine. On site, we have implemented enhanced hygiene procedures to limit the spread of the virus. All travel has been restricted and staff who have travelled outside of South Australia have been quarantined.
Our team have secure remote access to business systems and can continue to work productively from home, where necessary. We have existing security protocols in place to ensure client data remains confidential and secure when accessed via these methods.
Visiting our office
We will be actively contacting clients who are scheduled for appointments in our office to discuss alternatives available to them. Our offices will be closed and all appointments are to be conducted over the phone with the exception of clients signing wills as this is required in person to meet our professional obligations and abide by the applicable legislation. This will be done under the appropriate conditions.
Whilst we are required to respond to the current challenges through the use of technology, the personal nature of the relationships we have with our clients and the quality and care of our service remains our top priority.
Continuing work on your matters
If your matter is listed to be heard in Court we will also be in touch with you to discuss alternative arrangements that have been put in place by the South Australian and Federal Court systems. Please be assured that any deadlines will be met.
If you have an active conveyancing matter with an upcoming settlement date our conveyancing team will be in contact with you.
Contacting our staff
In the event of an imposed quarantine, should you wish to contact our office please do so as normal using the Adelaide phone number: (08) 8231 1110. Your call will be directed to a staff member working remotely.
All Solicitors and our Conveyancers will have access to their emails and will monitor them daily continuing their work from home and addressing urgent matters as they arise.
We are committed to supporting you during this difficult time. Please contact us if you have any questions or wish to discuss alternative methods of service delivery.
Thank you all for your understanding.
