Michael is a senior lawyer in the commercial law team. He assists a wide range of clients including businesses, property owners, investors and developers in relation to all aspects of commercial and property law.

He has extensive experience in property and commercial law, primarily in property transactions (acquisitions and disposals), property development (including apartment, commercial and townhouse projects), commercial leasing, finance and security transactions, commercial transactions (including business settlements), dispute resolution and lease enforcement. He also provides general commercial and property advice to clients.

Drawing on his broad range of commercial experience and acumen, Michael applies a pragmatic and methodical approach to his clients’ matters. His ability to think through legal strategies and solutions in this manner has been appreciated by his clients.

Prior to joining Johnston Withers in early 2018, he worked at a leading boutique property and commercial law firm where he specialised in commercial and agricultural property transactions, large-scale property development projects, leasing transactions, and business sale transactions.

He graduated from Flinders University holding a Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice (Honours). He received academic awards in recognition for achieving the highest mark in three subjects. He is currently studying a Master of Laws (with a focus on commercial law) at the University of Adelaide.

Outside of work he is married with a young family and dogs. He enjoys travelling, being outdoors, and spending time with his family.
