Our Clare Team
Jason Bell is one of the two lawyers who head up Johnston Withers’ family law team. He advises on all family law matters and has wide experience in the division of property under the Family Law Act including complex superannuation issues and farming and business entities.
Jason joined the firm in 2005 after over 20 years as a partner in a law firm in country Australia. That diverse experience allows him to act effectively for clients across a range of areas. It also equips him with the ability to spot an issue quickly and the judgment to help clients decide which issues to pursue. Calm and calming, he prides himself on his capacity to acknowledge the heightened emotions that often come with family breakdown while not letting emotions drive or derail progress to a solution.
In addition to his family law work, Jason plays a significant role in the commercial team where he advises in relation to estate and succession planning. Again, Jason is highly experienced in helping his farming and business clients find their way through the complexities of passing property down the generations.
Jason also provides advice in relation to estate administration, contested estates and complex probate matters.
He also advises in commercial and private property transactions including land and business sales, leases, mortgages and other securities and conveyancing.
After many years working within the Real Estate industry, the transition to conveyancing in 2015 seemed the logical next step. Through a balance of study and work, Tanya became a fully qualified Registered Conveyancer in August 2017. The real estate background in sales, commercial and residential property management now benefit her conveyancing practice.
Born and bred in the Mid North, Tanya has a real understanding of the needs of the local Mid North and rural communities as a whole. Owning a cropping and sheep production farm with husband Paul also provides her with a greater knowledge of all things agriculture and small business management.
Away from the conveyancing world, Tanya spends a lot of quality time on the road driving between Adelaide and Burra keeping up with her two teenage boys’ year round hockey commitments. Tanya has a high level of involvement in many local sporting clubs, schools and groups, from committee level to team managing. She is passionate about junior sport and helping provide kids with opportunities to get out and have a go.
Victoria began her career in conveyancing fresh out of school at the start of 2014 by working in administration at a small firm in Murray Bridge. Initially she didn’t know a lot about conveyancing but she quickly fell in love with the conveyancing world. This wasn’t a surprise in hindsight as she had always taken an interest in law as well as aspects in property growing up.
Conveyancing has sparked a passion in Victoria and it has quickly become a career she’s proud of. She started the conveyancing course in early 2016. The balance of full time work & part time study enabled her to grow from experience as well as theoretical learning. This was a huge benefit to her work – being able to extend her role from administration to a conveyancer’s assistant.
Victoria loves the many avenues conveyancing can take you on. She likes that there is a lot to learn and forever something new to catch your interest. Victoria knows that she will always be learning in this career and that is what she loves about it.
