In News, Staff Spotlight

Meet Kirsty Bennett, Kirsty works in our  Commercial and Property team. She is highly experienced, practical and approachable. Kirsty is committed to achieving sensible, commercial and timely outcomes for her clients.

What attracted you to the law?

The attraction of the law for me is to search for and find solutions to often complex problems that our clients face.

The law is always evolving and can be interpreted in different ways based on different factual situations.  The challenges are endless but there is also much satisfaction in achieving a result or solving a problem for our clients.

You previously practised in WA, what are the fundamental differences between states?

Whilst there are some technical differences in legislation between States, fundamentally, the legal issues are the same and the knowledge and skills required to solve our clients’  legal problems remain the same.

What made you want to specialise in Commercial Law?

My first degree was in Commerce, which I loved, particularly the focus on accounting and legal studies.  It was therefore a natural progression for me to study law and specialise in commercial law.  I also undertook a Masters of Law in this field.

Your favourite thing about working for JW?

At JW we have a great balance between experienced senior lawyers who are recognised as being at the top of their field, and enthusiastic young solicitors with a great passion for law and for helping our clients.

It really is a collaborative team.

This enables us to provide excellent legal services across a broad range of areas.

Being at JW has also afforded me the privilege of working for a number of indigenous organisations.  Having a commercial background when working in this area is imperative as is the confidence and ability to advocate strongly on behalf of our clients.

You will find Kirsty in our Adelaide Office, and you can contact Kirsty here.

As a firm we pride ourselves on our progressive, personal and professional approach to all areas of law.
